I realized that the picture I put together was pretty small, so here is the larger version of our family picture. :)

Erin update

Thank you everyone for your prayers for us and our family. You have all been so generous to us, and I have had so many people asking about my knee. We really appreciate all of you! Update on the knee: I somehow managed to tear my miniscus again, in two places, and unfortunately do need surgery at some point. I don't have to do it right away, but it does need to be done. So, we are shooting for sometime at the end of September, when the boys should be on more of a schedule, and it is easier to have someone here to help take care of them. I can walk on it fairly easily now, which is a blessing, though I still have trouble with stairs. I am very grateful that the surgery doesn't have to be done right away though.

We finally took a few family pictures the other day, and wanted to share them with you all! The boys have their two month appointment next week, so we will see how much they weigh then. But, we are guessing that they are about 8 to 8 and a half pounds by now. Growing machines! They are doing so well for premies, we are very thankful!

5 weeks old!

Hi everyone! I can't believe that it has already been almost six weeks since the boys were born. It has flown by....and yet...gone very slowly. :) At their last check-up, both boys were growing perfectly. Dylan was already up to 6lbs 12oz, and Lucas at 7lbs even, with both of them around 20 inches long. We are so blessed to not have any health problems at all....especially with them being premies when they were born. Lucas has started smiling a bit when he has a full tummy, and Dylan is holding his head up really well! They are also eating up a storm!! :)

My knee is doing a lot better also. I have an MRI scheduled for next week, so I will update you all then on the status. But, at least I am able to walk on my own right now, which is a huge blessing.

Erin's unfortunate event

Well....as many of you know, I don't have the best knees in the world. :) I have had trouble with my knees ever since junior high, and this week, it caught up to me again. Last Sunday as I was feeding Lucas, I twisted in an odd way and re-injured my right knee. I believe that I tore my miniscus again, as I did about 9 years ago as a senior in high school. I have not been able to have an MRI done quite yet, I will hopefully get an appointment early next week. So on Sunday, we had to call a family friend to come over to the house and help my mom watch the boys, while Teage and I took a lovely trip to the emergency room at midnight. :) I am now in a knee brace and walking with the help of crutches. As you can imagine, it is difficult to take care of twins while you are not able to walk on your own! :) My mom has been staying with us all week, and has been the best help imaginable. I could not do it without her!! We really are doing well though. The boys are growing growing!! We have an appointment on Monday where they will be weighed again, so I will update you all then. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers on our behalf!

I can't take credit for this one! :) My sister-in-law, Tawna, got this shot of Teage and Dylan when he was only a few days old.

2 weeks old already!

Hi everyone! Just a quick update on how we are all doing. I can't believe that it has been two weeks already. The boys are changing and growing so much everyday, and we have been so blessed with their health, even though they are such small little dudes. :) Both had checkups this week, and they are on the high end of the growth scale, which is so wonderful. Dylan has already gained over a pound since we left the hospital, and is currently 5lbs 7oz. Lucas has also gained a ton of weight and is currently 5lbs 10oz. They are both eating machines, and have such sweet little personalities! Teage and I feel so blessed to have them in our lives. Even though they are only two weeks old, they are both becoming more alert recently, and have even tried holding their heads up. They seem to be very aware of the others' presence, and can get very upset if their brother is not close by. :)

Best friends already....Lucas and Dylan linking arms.

Both boys very tired out after a long day of appointments! :)

At home

A few more pictures that we have taken since we have been home. They are so much fun!

The boys have arrived!

June 26th 2007 - Our boys were born! At 9:25 and 9:26am, Lucas Akualeialoha and Dylan Malulani Christensen came into the world. Both boys were healthy as can be, and we had no compliacations with the birth at all. Dylan came out first, and weighed 4 pounds 12 oz and was 18 inches long. Then came Lucas a minute later, weighing in at 5 pounds 3 oz and was 18.75 inches long. Being so small, Teage and I were a little worried that the boys would have to spend some time in the NICU. Dylan did have to spend a few hours....he was breathing too rapidly, and they had to monitor him for a while. But, other then that, both boys were totally healthy and were able to stay in the room with Teage and I until we all went home together on Friday the 29th. This was one of the first pictures taken of the boys together after the birth.

After Friday, Teage and I had to adjust to having two infants needing our attention all the time, and not getting much sleep. :) We have been doing ok so far, learning a lot as we go, but having fun with our two new babies. They both have such sweet dispositions, and are just precious to us. Here is a picture of the two of them on their first night home.

It is so sweet how they comfort each other, and always want to be together. They can't sleep unless the other one is right next to them. :)

Dylan and his crazy hair! He already has more then his daddy does! :)

Almost there!

Sorry it has taken me a while to update! Our internet has been acting very silly, and I haven't been able to upload pics lately. I am now at the end of 36 weeks, we only have four more days to go!! Can you believe it? It is even hard for us to believe at this point. I have had two appointments a week for a few weeks now, and everything is going just fine. At our ultrasound yesterday, we found out that baby A is about 6lbs 4oz, and baby B is 6lbs 1oz. That is a lot of weight for me, but wonderful for them! We are so thankful!! They are growing exactly how they should be, and should be fine for the delivery on Tuesdsay. We also saw that the babies already have some hair, how fun!
I am doing ok...getting very tired quickly throughout the day. But, that is understandable at this point. I am just going to take it easy this weekend, and get ready for Tuesday. The nursary is done, with their names on the wall and everything! The carseats are in the car, and Teage has practised taking them in and out! :) He is very excited, and keeps me calm when I get nervous! :) We are both very thankful for all of our family and friend's love and support through this whole process. We will be sure to get a ton of pictures up after they are born on Tuesday. We love you all!
Erin at 36 weeks and 5 days! 4 more days to go! :)

Update....

I went in for another appointment today, I am at 34 weeks and a few days! Not much to report....the boys are both doing great, which is wonderful! I had another NST, where they monitored heartrate and movement. It actually ended up taking quite a while because the boys were so active, and "B" had the hiccups for almost a half an hour! :) I am having some contractions every now and again, but that is normal for how far along I am. The doctors are not worried about them at all. I am starting with two checkups a week next week, so I will give another update then! :)

This is one of the ultrasound pictures from a few weeks ago. Teage wanted me to post this one, because even though the face is a little squished, you can tell perfectly that our sons have a beautiful Samoan nose! :) I am sure both boys are going to take after their daddy in this area!
